Media policy attitudes and political attitudes: the politization of media policy and the support for the ‘media welfare state’

Previous research has neglected media audiences’ and citizens’ opinions on how the should be organized, they function in society what individual, corporate state responsibilities regard to these questions. In an attempt understand relationship between broader political attitudes their media-related politics responsibilities, this study uses a survey (n = 2003) of adult Swedish population investigate distribution range contemporary space positions. The results reveal overlaps space, where support for Nordic ‘media welfare state’ corresponds leftist GAL-oriented values, while TAN-oriented right-wing link scepticism towards interventionism landscape. A small but highly opinionated segment displays laissez-faire views policy that are reflected current propositions from parties parliament.
